Australian Olympic Pathway School Application Form

Complete the application form to be considered to be recognised as an AOPS.

Criteria One
To be designated an AOPS, a school needs to have have an established elite athlete development program (Sport Program) which includes no less than five Olympic Sports on the Summer or Winter Games program with accredited coaches in the respective Olympic sports.

Criteria Two
To be designated an AOPS, the Sport Program needs to be recognised, endorsed, and have a formal integration performance pathway with relevant state, territory or national sporting organisations for each of the Olympic Sports in the Sport Program.

Criteria Three
To be designated an AOPS, a school's Sport Program needs to provide nutrition and wellbeing education support for students, including access to wellbeing staff and high performance psychologists.

Criteria Four
To be designated an AOPS, a school's Sport Program needs to provide sport integrity education, including anti-doping and competition manipulation.

Criteria Five
To be designated an AOPS, a school's Sport Program needs to provide access to sporting facilities.

Criteria Six
To be designated an AOPS, a school's Sport Program needs to display a commitment to helping student athletes achieve balance between academic and athletic performance.

Criteria Seven
To be designated an AOPS, a school's Sport Program needs to provide educational opportunities to students in a supportive environment which:
  • fosters respect and responsibility, and
  • promotes a culture of academic excellence, collaboration, and commitment, and
  • teaching staff encourage students to achieve their personal best in the classroom, and excellence on the sporting field.
